But they are not yet finish with the horse bill. I think Republican's Smith and King will again filibuster by trying to put in a lot of amendments to the horse's bill until the day is over. The chairperson is not doing good countering the filibustering of the Republican side.

If both job (old and new) in same area, and new salary is "considerably" less than old salary, then it may be an issue. But it may be overcome, provided if you know the prevailing wage determination (not salary) of old job. Lets say if the PW for a level-3 engineer for your old job 50K at a particular county, and I-140 salary in your old job is 70K, and if you port to new job with new salary as 60K in same county, then it should not be an issue. Again, if USCIS does not buy this, you need to dispute. It needs extensive lawyering with DOL wage survey as a proof.

The Forum post on the link says that its not necessary to have the same or similar job description when working on EAD. What will happen when I ask for EAD renewal?
Also, what will happen when my Priority date becomes current? Will I be able to get a GC thru this I-485 since I have left the employer who filed my GC?

I made a one time contribution myself but I have a feeling that IV is going away from the goal of increasing EB visas and just focusing on the 485 filing.Many people that have contributed earlier feel that by prioritizing the 485 filing over increase of EB visas, IV has gone away from atleast some of stakeholders .The stakeholders were promised initially that increase of EB visas would be a top priority or atleast on a even keel with any other objectives, but now we are in phased approach.I have talked to lot of people and the feeling is same.
If people waiting to file 485 & keep in mind there are quite a lot , get to file 485 then we will have much more people who aspire to get final GC which in turn means greater force working towards a common goal, so it may also turn out to be good for people who have already filed 485.

Due to the economic downturn there aren't many companies sponsoring GCs for employees. I doubt it would be more than 20 to 30k per year from now. This leaves 100-110k visas available every year for retrogressed countries like india and china
if there 300-400k pending GC applications in all categories then shouldn't all of us get our GC in next 3-4 years?
There is no way to clean every thing with in 3 to 4 years, Why because like EB3 china and India had country limit per year.

Hello,
My application also returned for the same reason (no I485 receipt notice attached) from Phoenix. Not sure what to do at this time. I never received I485 receipt notices. Hence, I have attached biometric notices in place I485 receipt notices. I have added a cover letter requesting to expedite the process. I am not sure if this request caused some mental disturbance on the person who is supposed to work on my application and may have sent me rejected notice.

I must say you guys at IV rock big time... I wasnt aware of this site till July flipflop started... Am so glad I joined here...

Hi,
I got an email saying "we mailed the document to the applicant" and it says the same thing on my uscis protfolio.
I would like to know if this means the case was approved or is it some other document being sent.
When they approved my EAD, it clearly said "Approval notice sent".
When they approve a case then status clearly says 'Case Approved'.
The email "we mailed the document to the applicant" may be anything or nothing, like if they transfer ur case to different service centre, they send a notice. Some time they don't send anything even though the email contradicts it. Keep checking the status, they might update it later if the case has been approved.
Also, for AP keep bugging ur attorney to see if they got it. For EAD, make sure your mail box has your name clearly, otherwise they won't deliver it.

Vayalar Ravi will know more about Indians in Gulf. He is form Kerala and his main focus is Indians in Gulf coutnries. While I dont mean say he is partial to them or any such thing, I think he will understan those issues better than ours.

Thanks to everyone for taking an active role in the funding drive. It is always a frustrating experience every time we want to raise funds. In our overzealousness sometimes we also hurt the effort by being too harsh on people who are not contributing. We do not wish to encourage any finger pointing. Members start asking all kinds of questions on the forum and kill the initiative thereby hurting the organization and ultimately themselves. At this time we are no longer going to ask for funds on the forum and will continue the IV effort with what we have from the contributions members have made. Members who feel they wish to contribute will contribute if they feel for the cause in their heart. Admins have decided to close all such threads so that we can focus on the other IV work rather than solving disputes between members and making sure no anonymous member is hurting other anonymous member�s feelings.

I double checked with my attorney , either or AP or EAD usage will change your status, ie H1 is no more valid.

At this time we do not have any one assigned member by IV to lead the chapter. However in the interest of getting things started I request the chapter members to organize a confrence call. If 'williblucky' would like to set it up and send messags to everyone, pls go ahead. If there is anyone else willing to volunteer to set up a call for a weekend pls go ahead. Make sure you send PM's to each member on this thread and inform them about the time for the call. It is important that we have the state chapter active.
